Shhhhh, don't tell the PTCO!I ...I'm a liberal too. Shhhhh, don't tell the PTCO!

I have to say that we don't have a choice, a bail out is going to have to happen. Look at all of the economies of the world that we would affect - not to mention what happens to my own little family - if our economy flushes. I mean, Israel's ecomony is based on the value of our dollar, and if we have no money then China goes belly up as far as imports go... it's going to harm the entire world eventually. Not to mention that husband is starting a new job on Monday, and I'd sure hate to see him get laid off if and when the economy goes South.

That said, there is such a thing as slowing down to plan this correctly. Lend them the money, but make them pay it back! We cannot continue to socialize all this loss unless we socialize the gain, and none of us really want that. We like Capitalism... so let's protect it. There is nothing wrong with going after such CEO's for breaking the law, either. You know that there were improprieties being committed - find them and punish them. The Govt is going to have to get involved, but lets use that as a fix, instead of a bailout.Dodihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04988434957387067339noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32614013.post-2903820760513476512008-09-26T02:09:00.000-06:002008-09-26T02:09:00.000-06:00That was fantastic - you really hit the nail on th...That was fantastic - you really hit the nail on the head!

But having said all that, I think the world wide consequences of NOT holding things up don't really bear thinking about.

Meanwhile it would make a lot of sense, while they are at it, to put a bit more money into health and education, like you say - what harm would another couple of billion do?

As for people taking huge mortgages that they know they can't pay back - I know people who have done it over here!Rock Chefhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11259561583833857901noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32614013.post-85260114399285077412008-09-25T22:02:00.000-06:002008-09-25T22:02:00.000-06:00ganelle, I agree, but that makes me mad too...some...ganelle, I agree, but that makes me mad too...someone did something wrong and there's no consequence, because the consequence hurts everyone...it's just so frustrating, because we as regular folk don't get chances like that

hi amanda, thanks for coming by...single moms would proably give good financial advice!

janelle...no kidding

mrs 444, i think they're a lot of us that are stoopid...tzhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12586960868908412491noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32614013.post-9614042155729271832008-09-25T21:03:00.000-06:002008-09-25T21:03:00.000-06:00Guess I'm stupid, too, because I don't get it, eit...Guess I'm stupid, too, because I don't get it, either.Mrs4444https://www.blogger.com/profile/06426176094895489541noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32614013.post-13335138902942433732008-09-25T20:58:00.000-06:002008-09-25T20:58:00.000-06:00whatever happened to personal responsibility?whatever happened to personal responsibility?Jenellehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16264115988026998255noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32614013.post-88802999644319316042008-09-25T20:52:00.000-06:002008-09-25T20:52:00.000-06:00AhhhI don't know you, actually I just stumbled her...Ahhh
I don't know you, actually I just stumbled here from Logz' blog but....I could totally wrap you in a warm bloggy hug right now!
Why is this logic not pounded into the granite at the front of the white house, eh? She says that our national budget should be put into the hands of a group of single working mothers. Because they know how to pinch a penny and still make sure there's enough food on the table, education for everyone, and a little fund on the side for the future!

Mmmhmmm.
