J's coach decided to have some pre-season practice and was able to get a high school baseball team to help the little league guys out. So the other moms and I were watching the bigger boys help out the smaller ones learn the ropes of baseball (the kids LOVED it!)....anyhoo this was part of our conversation.....
Me: (about one of the high school boys) Holy cow, look at his pants, they're so dirty!
J: They were sliding
Me: Oh....
Coach's Wife: Were you checking him out?
Me: OMG, no, I was thinking about the laundry his mother is going to have to do and why don't they just wear black pants?
Pause
laughter
Seriously, when did I stop checking guys out and start thinking about laundry?

When your own child is closer in age to that dirty-pants boy...then the whole Mrs. Robertson thing starts to freak you out too!
I feel like I have 2002 kids these days: and only 2 I gave birth to! But those other kids at the school? I'm one part mana, one part school nurse.
We had a similar convo in our house this week. S3 plays lacrosse and his team captains picked white shorts as the team shorts. I told S3 that it was obvious THEY didn't do the laundry at their house.
hilarious!!!
I for once am happy to know your all about the laundry. There are enough Zac Efron fans my age out there already.
Probably about the same time I started calling the students "kids"?
I love your blog. I read happened onto it via the "Next Blog" button, and I relate on so many levels. I'm a graduate student, and mom of three. I relate to your post about your dad and his AIDS and your remodel and the the whole bit. If we were neighbors, I'll bet we'd be good friends.
It is a sad sorry transition, isn't it? Ugh.
Funny! Thanks, I needed a good laugh today.

Laughing at your posts - especially the dirty pants one, the homeless guys, etc. Appreciating your sense of humor. My cousin found your blog and said "I found another one! Sounds like you!" If you're interested, you can find me at momcrusades.blogspot.com or http://www.spanitz.com/artman/publish/index.shtml. Keep up the good work! I'll definitely be checking back in. Really liking that romance novel picture!
Maybe wanting a grown man is a lost art? Don't hang your head...You are a Lady, maybe a busy Lady, but a Lady none-the-less :-)

It's amazing how practical you become when you have children!!! You made me laugh as I know that feeling - great blog!
Also, the guys in the NFL and NBA are starting to look a little young to be involved in such rough sports, don't they? I mean, shouldn't they wait until they grow up a little more??
AND! When did 12 year olds start getting their drivers' licenses? Because I SWEAR TO GOD I saw a kid driving the other day. Swear.
why DON'T they wear black pants? Really?
Couldn't agree more!!
