Signs of Spring

Oh goody --said, dripping with sarcasm, time for the kids to dig around and find all the creepy crawlies....not my favorite part of Spring and Summer.
A week ago -- welcome to Spring in the Rockies...Snow one day....kids wearing shorts the next

Today...my favorite part of Spring...remembering what I actually planted...oh and look, I have to weed---strangely I even like doing that. I can't wait until my class is over and I can play in the soil....I guess the kids aren't the only ones that like to dig around in the dirt.

It is amazing how it is always the weeds that seem to grow best! I love those little snakes - they look like the grass snakes that we get over here.

Wow! That is a pretty extreme- looking snake! Why did you flip the image? You are in Denver, right? Yeah, our weather is just about as wacky in Cheyenne. Hey... so you must be just about to finish semester 2! That means you are almost a semester 3!

That reminds me of the picture I have of Jake at our rehearsal dinner with slugs from the river all over his hands.

We got some weird weather too. 80 one day, but 40's on most days since then.

ick...so not a fan of the snakes. But your flowers look very lovely.

Yes, I have heard them called garter snakes too. I find most snakes really boring (my younger brother has some big pet ones) but I like these little guys.

TELL THAT KID TO PUT DOWN THAT HORRIBLE CREATURE!! I know God made all creatures but he must have been interrupted when he made the thing that turned out to be snakes.

Snakes are the only thing that can truly cause me to have apoplexy :)

And...tell me why it is that all the weeds grow so much better than anything I plant.

I love seeing that first sign of a tulip peaking out from the ground. But for some reason, the flowers are a lot later here than in our old house. It's been so sad. We are just starting to get our tulips.

It looks beautiful there. Except for the snakes, I hate snakes.
