WW -- Santa Fe

An old mural painted above the entrance to a hotel
A processional, with singing and incense and rose petals being thrown

Had to stop in and get our New Mexico Starbucks Mug (OK, we're goobers, every time we go someplace we get a mug from SB...my brother has sent me some from overseas also)
I think the church is St. Frances of Assisi...the main square is built around the church and it's quite beautiful inside.

What do you do with all the SB mugs you collect? I always think it's interesting the things people collect :)

we use them...when people come over they know which one is their mug based on the state/country, truthfully i have no idea how we ended up deciding to collect them...it just sort of happened, now we make an effort.

I too find it interesting what strikes a person's fancy...
maybe I'll blog the question and see what responses we get?

oh, and in case you all want to know, this morning I'm drinking my coffee out of a SB Tokyo mug...

Cool idea to collect SB mugs!! I try very hard to not collect anything...it has to do with my personality type...I would drive myself nuts b/c I would not be happy or satisfied until I had every single last one! LOL!! I am a crazy person just collecting those "boxtops" off boxes for the schools. I see them in people's trash when I am visiting them and I ask to dig them out. Seriously, my heart beats faster when I see one...it's weird b/c they don't benefit me in any way...I just give them to the schools...I have "collecting OCD"...LOL!!

Oohh ... love that idea of the Starbucks collection. What I have right now are their bearista magnets. Over 20 of them already.

The mural is fantastic.

I am SB free here. We just got one with a chipo*tle in town and I haven't visited yet. Do the mugs have the different locals printed on them or are you just psychic about which one is which ;)?

Love the pictures! The older I get the more I appreciate architecture--especially beautiful churches.

Your trip to Ojo Caliente looks really interesting. I wish we had the time and money to travel more often. Oh, 16th happy anniversary tomorrow!

logziella...Oh man I love those boxtop things...they kids call them 'school money' and I have to split them out between the two of them so they can both feel like they're contributing...

Laura B....it was awesome inside...no flash photography so not all our pics came out...bummer

dodi...how random to both of us in the same hood have tokyo mugs and happen to be drinking them the same morn

scott, it's not the one w/ the staircase...is that the staircase that the carpenter came and built didn't collect any money and it's like architectually impossible?

kayinspired...welcome! what are barista magnets? are they from SB? we used to collect magnets from our travels but our fridge got to full and I wanted a less cluttered look

OHN you must live in a small town....the mugs have pictures of the town or state...depending on how big the town is and sometimes some state facts...so no psychic

danielle....what i would love to do is get over to australia say hey to you and get the mug myself! but first i have to finish school....that whole money thing

daddy forever....we're lucky that it's just a 5 hour drive for us...they had a kitchenette too so we were able to have some of our meals in our room to cut costs...

and yes, today is our anniversary officially, thank you for the well wishes.

Okay, I've caught up on all your posts. Very nice pictures, cute story about the language barrier(?) and all the others. It just takes me awhile to get everything looked at!!
