WW a first and a last (well not so last, day before last)

First day of school was yesterday. It was also the first time I didn't pick out their clothes or buy them something special to wear.
Our last breakfast before leaving (ok this is when I still thought we were leaving THAT day) -- can anyone say sunblock -- and maybe I should have worn some.
At the airport trying to figure out what we should do for the next 24 hours.

Jason looking up how many Hilton Points we have (here's a plus to all the traveling he had to do prior to going into management). And yay, we had enough to stay at a place close to the airport and with a swimming pool.

OH! Well, at least you didn't get to the airport the day AFTER your flight, right?

Silver lining and all...

Your boys are SO cute! First day of school? Already? Do they attend a "year round" school? (Not sure that's the right terminology, but around here, some have a few 3 week breaks interspersed throughout the year, rather than the typical 3 month summer break.)

Looks like you had a good trip. Don't feel too bad about your little oops, at least you didn't miss your flight.

Like Terri I'm wondering 'first day of school? already?'

tracey..very much a silver lining...

terri and laura..yes, year round schools....there's always someone in the school except two weeks in summer and two weeks in winter...the other four 'tracks' alternate time off...so my two are on a track that happens to attach itself to christmas and summer, so they get 5 weeks at christmas and 5 weeks at summer...then they get two weeks in fall? and three in spring? or vice versa? i should figure that out pretty soon here ;)

it's actually pretty nice...i like it.

and terri, thanks!

Happy first day of school! I used to think I wanted a longer summer, but with a brand new school that won't be ready until Sept., my summer is feeling realllllly long!

Your boys have beautiful eyes. I'm sure a few looks from those have lessened the offense. Good luck to them in the school year (and you as well).

Please save your son for my daughter so they can get married and live happily ever after. (Really? Either child will do... as I have two daughters.) We'll have them meet up in their early 20's?

Hilton Points RRRRROOOOOOCCCCCKKKKK!!!!! (Imagine I'm saying that in my booming Oprah voice!)

How perfect: yes we must marry off the "brown kid" to the girl who assumes her mom is brown. It only seems like the proper thing to do, right?

Great pictures...

I know it was a post ago - but I loved your "primative Elfa" observation. Congratulations on making it home!

Your schools start in July! Wow! When do they let out in the Spring then?

Hmmm. After writing the above post, I actually READ your answer to the previous comments, and see that your boys attend year-round school. It probably is nice for your family, especially 5 wks at Christmas! Gunny's oldest was in a year-round school for a couple years, and it really complicated their lives because their other two were on the traditional schedule.

You are hilarious!! I do stuff like that too! Must be the name...LOL!

Your boys are so handsome and you have such a beautiful family!

That round school sounds great!! No time to forget everything in the summertime. More consistant. I think I'd like that.

The way you described it almost makes me want to purposly plan an extra day to wind down in a hotel before coming home. Sorry that it wasn't planned but it sure sounded nice.

Thanks for sharing your vacation with us! That was fun and it makes me want to go there even more now!!
